Easily Share Your Personalised Toolbars with Colleagues

Up to PolyWorks Metrology Suite 2019 IR3, toolbars with embedded macros could only be shared with colleagues by sharing a visual layout, which replaced their current visual layout with possibly an unfamiliar one. Now, you can share just the toolbars and their macros. Your colleagues can easily import new toolbars into their PolyWorks software, which are simply added to their current visual layout.

Step by step: To share toolbars with embedded macros:

Export your personalised toolbars to a pwtlb file:

1. From the top menu, choose Tools > Visual Layout > Customise.
2. In the Customise Visual Layout dialog box that is displayed:
   1. Click the Toolbars tab.
   2. Select the desired personalised toolbars and click the Export button.
   3. Specify a file name and destination in the file browser that is displayed, then click Save.
   4. The toolbars, including their macros and any other associated files, are exported to a file with the .pwtlb extension.

Import the pwtlb file containing the personalised toolbars:

1. Choose from one of these methods:
   1. Option A: From the top menu, choose Tools > Visual Layout > Import Toolbars. Then, select the desired pwtlb file in the file browser that is displayed and click Open.
   2. Option B: Drag and drop the pwtlb file from the file browser onto the module's interface.

The imported toolbars are displayed at the top left of the user interface.

NOTE: Starting with IR4, users can easily keep track of toolbar versions thanks to a toolbar’s Version property. To view or specify a personalised toolbar’s version, select it on the Toolbars tab of the Customise Visual Layout dialog box and click the adjacent Properties button.
